I’m not much of a baker, scratch that… I’m not a baker at all. I don’t like exact measurements and I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. But… as I was skimming through my Southern Living Magazine, I came across a dessert that looked simple to make. All of the ingredients I had in my pantry, so I decided that I would give it a try.
You need:
jelly-pan
Non-stick foil
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of dark brown sugar
saltine crackers
1 package of semi sweet chocolate chipstoasted pecans @ ¼ cup
flaky salt
How To Make It!
Step 1: Cover your jelly-pan with non-stick foil; take a semi soft stick of butter and rub onto foil. Place saltines in a single layer on top.
Step 2: Throw your stick of butter along with another stick into a pan and melt.
Step 3: Add 1 cup of brown sugar stirring until boiling, continue to stir for 3 min.
Step 4: Pour sugar and butter mixture over saltines. Place in 350 degree oven for 9 minutes.
Step 5: Place pan on cooling rack for 1 minute. Add all of the chocolate chips. Take spatula a spread evenly over the crackers.
Step 6: Sprinkle toasted pecans and salt on top of chocolate. Let cool, then place in refrigerator.
Step 7: Break apart when cold and store in container in the refrigerator until you are ready to enjoy.
This dessert tastes exactly like English toffee!!
You can serve these on a pretty plate.
This past month I have made this 3 times and each time it comes out delicious!
