I spent a wonderful afternoon at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. I recommend that even if you are a local as I am, you won’t be disappointed. The Montage is a 5 star resort located on the cliffs of Laguna Beach, California.
When you arrive at the resort, the valet is waiting to park your car. Upon entering the hotel, the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean is beckoning you. You walk straight through the lobby, past the overstuffed couches and the bar onto the balcony that overlooks the massive pool with mosaic tiles and the ocean. You do not have to be staying at the resort to dine at the restaurants or have a cocktail at the bar.
The resort boasts of three restaurants: The Studio, The Loft and The Mosaic Bar & Grille. You will notice when visiting the Montage Resort that the references to art and artists are everywhere. For example, the restaurant’s names references art spaces. The public spaces have artwork of all kinds and you can even get a docent to show you around. Laguna Beach is known for being an artist colony and the Montage definitely acknowledges that.
The Mosaic Bar and Grille has a beautiful space for alfresco dining, perfect for a beautiful day. The menu presents itself as “Casual Californian” such as seafood, salads and healthy grilled sandwiches.
The grounds of the Montage lends itself to strolling along its paths, admiring the indigenous plants and flowers, along with spectacular sculptures created by local artists.
The beauty here is everywhere. Take an afternoon and spend it exploring this beautiful resort and the magnificent California coastline.
