Well it turns out this story is fake. Here is a link to the background of the story if you are interested http://www.snopes.com/business/consumer/cookie.asp.

Turns out Neiman Marcus came up with this cookie recipe as a response to this bad publicity. In fact Neiman Marcus has this recipe has the bogus email on their website https://www.neimanmarcuscareers.com/story/recipe.shtml . Of course the recipe is FREE!

After reading this story, I decided to bake these cookies myself. I used to believe that my all-time favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is Nestles Toll House Cookie recipe. Since, baking chocolate chip cookies with the Neiman’s recipe, I have switched. These cookies are awesome!

I’m not a baker, don’t really enjoy it. Exactness is not my forte. In baking, precise measurements are needed. Also, as I have said before, I’m a savory gal, sweet is okay, it has its moments, but give me a plate of truffle fries over dessert any day.

Yesterday, I thought I would make those Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip cookies. It takes some time, but they are totally worth it.

I received a stand-alone Kitchen Aid mixer for Christmas a couple of years ago and it definitely makes baking easier. I also bought a cookie scoop. It looks like an ice cream scoop, but smaller.   The cookie scoop allows grabbing the batter and dropping them onto the cookie sheet faster. Before, I used a spoon and my fingers which made a mess. Also, the cookies are more uniform in size. I also decided that I would line my baking sheets with parchment paper. It’s great for cleanup and the cookies come off easily. I also have a hard time getting my cookies to plump up, not flatten and spread out. So I alternated with each batch of cookies with a cool baking sheet. My cookies came out beautiful!
